How to Eat Healthy When You Travel

Has been 4 years since I got married. My fitness and health are still improving. My wife and I find ways to stay fit and healthy by following our exercise program and eating healthy among other things. 


The other day I was talking to a friend about eating out when traveling. She told me that her family eats out every time they are traveling and it is difficult to lose weight because she can’t persuade every member of her family to eat healthy and she end up giving up and eating the wrong foods her family are eating.



I noticed something peculiar that my wife started doing when we traveled that I was not aware of… 


When I was single, I had control over what I eat, but now when I travel with my wife, daughter, mother and sister in law we have to agree on something to eat.

When I was single and traveled, I would go to the closest farmer market or any organic healthy restaurant where I can eat my breakfast and other food to go for my lunch. When it was time for dinner, I would eat in any restaurant and make the best choice in the menu. I would stay in hotels, but I never ate any food from the hotels.


Now that I travel with my family I let my wife plan for us… 


So she rents an apartment or a couple rooms in a hotel, we get to our destination and we stop by a natural grocery store and buy food for the week we are going to stay. We usually eat breakfast and dinner in the place we are staying and we eat lunch out.

We manage to eat healthy during our vacations by eating the best foods we can find in the area we are staying. Plus, we also save a lot of money by buying groceries instead of eating out everytime. 


It is possible to eat healthy when you travel, but you need to want to eat healthy, have a plan and follow it... 


The first thing you need to do is find a natural grocery where you can buy the healthy foods you are going to eat during your vacation. Next, make a search on the best organic and healthy restaurants in your area. Eat as much as you can the foods you prepare and eat out the least you can.

And of course, if you travel often, then find a place where you can continue with your exercise routine. 



These tips will help you stay in shape and healthy when you travel. My friend finally realized that she can eat healthy if she wanted and start losing weight.
