What’s The Best Workout for Fat Loss

Many people wonder what is the best workout for fat loss. It makes sense to ask that question if your goal is to lose fat. Anytime I want to improve my life in any area, I would like to know the fastest route to achieve my goal. And if my goal is to lose fat, why waste time on exercises that won’t help me lose fat? I would like to concentrate all my focus on those exercises that will yield the best results on fat loss.

Here I am going to explain the best exercise for weight loss and why.

It is important to know how the body works when you are exercising, so you fully understand how to make your fat loss program more efficient.

the best workout

The body uses three energy systems, phosphagen, glycolytic and oxidative systems. Depending on the exercise you do, the body will choose what system to use and what energy should be burned according to the system.

And if you want to burn fat, you need to know what system you should be using optimally.

The phosphagen system stored ATP and phosphocreatine in the muscles.

This energy from foods that have previously been broken down and stored in the muscles. This energy can only be used for a small amount of time for about 10 seconds and can only be used on high intense effort such as one maximum rep in weight lifting.

the best cardio system

This is not the best way of burning fat because the energy used can take up to 5 minutes to be restored and the body uses carbohydrates and proteins to store this energy.

Glycolytic or anaerobic glycolysis gets its energy from carbohydrates.

This energy is also stored in the liver and muscles. It is very similar to the phosphagen system. However, this energy can be used for up to 2 minutes and can also be replenished back in two minutes.

As well, you need carbohydrates to replenish this energy system. So fat is not an energy used by this system. You use this energy by sprinting, jumping or doing  high repetition weight lifting.

Oxidative or Aerobic System is the best fat burning.

lifting and cardio

This system uses carbohydrates, fats, and sometimes proteins to function. So if your goal is to burn fat, this is the system you want to be using. To do that, you need to stay active for more than 6 minutes a day. The longer you exercise using this system, the more fat you are going to be burning.

This is the only system that uses oxygen to burn energy.  It oxidizes fats. As you exercise and burn calories, you need oxygen for that to happen. Running, bicycling, and swimming are examples. This is the reason why we called them cardiovascular training. It uses the cardiovascular system with oxygen to burn fat.

The best workouts for fat loss are going to be any cardiovascular training or as we called it cardio. Run, swim, bike, jump rope, rowing or any exercise that requires you to be moving constantly for at least 30 minutes will be the key for fat loss.

Nevertheless, don’t forget that live tissue will increase your metabolism and the only way to add live tissue to your body is by doing resistant training.

cardio system

To conclude, if you want to focus on fat loss, cardiovascular training is the best exercise you can do for that to happen because it uses the oxidative system to burn fat compared to the other two systems that use carbohydrates as energy. But the other two systems are used when you do resistant training that will help you increase muscle and, therefore, your metabolism which in turn will help you burn more fat in the long term.
