Practice Healthy Habits and Forget About The Scale to Lose Weight

How fast can I lose 20 pounds? When I get to see results? When will I be able to have a flat stomach? These are some questions some of our members ask. Of course, it is normal for many of us to want to know when we will be meeting our goals.

We start a weight loss program with the hope of meeting our goal soon and I believe there is no issue knowing when we will get to our goal. But the goal becomes a problem when we only focus on the goal.



I have noticed that many people get desperate to get to their goals and are not happy with the small results they are getting. For example, I have seen people losing 4 pounds in a month and they are not happy with the results. They want to lose every single extra pound they carry around extra in matters of weeks.

They are so focused on the results that they stop doing what they have done to lose those 4 pounds and they regain the weight back. While other people are so desperate to see massive results that they start taking shortcuts that are hurtful for their health or are just an illusion of weight loss.


These people who want to lose weight desperately and focus only on the results, end up with more weight than when they started…


They usually think that once they get to their desired goal their life is going to change and they won’t need to continue improving to maintain their weight loss.

Not too long ago, I assessed one of our members and he mentioned that he finally got what I have been telling him, to focus on the changes in his lifestyle instead of focusing on the scale.


There are no results if there is no change of lifestyle…


There is no pill, surgery, drug or product that will give you results if you don’t change your lifestyle. In addition to this statement, your overweight problem is due to your lifestyle. Change your lifestyle and you change your life.


So if there is nothing else that will give you results, except your lifestyle changes, so what do you need to focus on to get results? The healthy lifestyle change you are making.


There is no point to focus on the scale and how much your weight if you don’t make changes in your lifestyle because you are not going to lose weight. However, if you change your lifestyle, you will lose weight and the more changes you make the more results you will have. 


If you focus on the scale, you will get desperate and not see drastic results...

Nevertheless, if you focus on lifestyle change, you are getting results. You will see results. Therefore, you will look forward to continuing making more lifestyle changes and even getting better results.


Keep in mind that those lifestyle changes gave you the results. Therefore, to maintain your weight loss, you just continue with your lifestyle changes you made. You need to become accustomed to those changes. 



So train your brain to focus on practicing healthy habits and forget about the scale…
