It is interesting how many people want to lose weight and be fit with a faulty perception of what really means to lose weight and stay fit. Here I am going to share with you 7 incorrect ways of thinking that many people practice that won’t allow them to lose weight and get fit.
There is nothing out there that can overcome your bad diet…
If you eat over 4,000 calories during the day and you only burn 2,000, you are never going to lose weight. For example if you drink a milkshake with 880 calories, you need to vigorously lift weights for an hour to burn 600 calories and run at least two miles, half an hour, to burn 280 calories. Only to burn the milkshake you drank. There is no way you can lose weight eating more calories than you can burn.
Plus, the types of calories you eat are also important. It is not the same 100 calories of beer as 100 calories of broccoli. One has empty calories and the other has many nutrients you need.
Training what you think you need to train, compare what you must train...

For example, many men are afraid of working out their legs and only work their upper body. Besides their body looking funny with small legs, they are creating an imbalance with their strength where the lower back and legs are weak and these guys can injure their back when trying to lift something heavy because they need to. In other words, working only the upper body for men won’t work functionally in real life.
Another example is when women come and they want to do only the hip thrusts because they think that is all their need for their glutes to grow. While the hip thrust does work, it is one of the laziest exercises you can find there. Therefore, it won’t help you burn fat and even work your lower back and legs like squats do.

Eating everything you did not eat during the week on the weekends…
Many times I don’t see results in our members in their assessments and one of the reasons is because they eat healthy during the week and they lose weight and then eat badly during the weekend and they gained the weight they lost. It does not make sense to save money for your retirement every week and spend it every weekend. By the end you end up in the same place. The same happens with your weight loss
Not being constant with your eating and exercise…
This is similar to the above point, many people exercise for a month and lose weight, let’s say 8 lbs and then they stop exercising for two weeks and they regain the weight loss. They exercise for two weeks and stop exercising for a week and they do gain weight back. The key is to be constant every week.
Finding motivation alone to exercise instead of being disciplined…

When you are motivated you want to get results and you are ready to do almost anything to lose weight except one thing, become disciplined. Motivation is a good start, but you need to stay disciplined during your whole program no matter what to stay fit. Think this way, no matter what you are doing, exercising is not always fun and you must learn to live with that if your goal is to stay fit.
Drinking your calories…
There is no worse thing than drinking your calories. I hope the example of the milkshake is clear and you know that drinking high calorie drinks adds up, 880 calories in a milkshake, 180 calories on each can of soda you drink, 200 calories in a slurpee and the list continues. But if you drink 5 sodas a day, you are drinking at least 900 calories

Following a diet…
Many people have the wrong perception of a diet. A diet really is the way you are eating. The word dieting should not exist because you should be eating healthy for life.
Many people only follow a diet because they think a diet is only for a short period of time. Nevertheless, you should be thinking about changing your habits and your diet will change forever, not for a few months.
Change to lose weight is very important for your life
Conclusion…
I think for you to lose weight and be fit, you need to start with your thinking. Therefore, start having a different perception about the habits that you are going to start practicing to lose weight and stay fit.
Start with these 7 incorrect ways of thinking and change them, so you can be on your way to lose weight and be fit.
